MAPLE GLEN — The Upper Dublin School Board has approved a three-year contract with the Upper Dublin Education Association, effective July 1. The current agreement expires on June 30. Negotiations between the board and the association began in January, and a tentative agreement was reached earlier this month. The association ratified the contract on June 12.
The contract covers 335 professional staff members, including teachers, nurses, counselors, librarians, and other specialists. Under the contract terms, all professional staff members will receive annual salary increases based on years of satisfactory service. Average salary increases include 3.41% in year one, 3.34% in year two, and 3.26% in year three. Additional increases for advanced educational attainment are also part of the new contract.
Association Co-President Maureen Schmidt commented that the new contract “provides three years of stability for our members and was reached after months of negotiations.” School Board President Jeffrey Wallack said that the contract is “the result of the hard work of everyone involved in the negotiation process and will enable the district to continue to provide exceptional educational opportunities to district students.”
