Wheels to Use for a Report

Animal Report Wheel
Make an animal report wheel using this 2-page print-out; it consists of a base page together with a wheel that spins around. Use the wheel to write facts about the animal, including: Scientific Name, Type of Animal, Color, Size, Diet, Enemies, Habitat, Range, Life Cycle, Life Span, Endangered?, Something Interesting. Also, draw the animal on the top of the wheel. The student then writes a paragraph on interesting features about the animal.

Biography Book Report Wheel
Make a biography book report wheel using this 2-page print-out; it consists of a base page together with a wheel that spins around. The student fills out the parts of the book report, including: Subject of the Biography, Date and Place of Birth, Early Life and Education, Career, Family and Children, Major Accomplishment(s), How the Subject Changed the World, Date and Place of Death. When you spin the wheel, the the parts of the book report appear, one at a time. The student then answers the questions, "If you met the subject of this biography, what questions would you ask? Did you like this book? Would you recommend this book to a friend? Explain why."

Fiction Book Report Wheel

The student fills out the parts of the book report, including: Genre, Year Published, Setting, Main Character(s), Plot - Beginning, Middle, End, Problem or Conflict, and Message or Moral of Story. Explain why."

Country Wheel

After putting the wheel together, the student follows the instructions on the front wheel (coloring in the country on a world map and drawing a small map of the country) and fills out the 12 sections of the wheel with information about one country. When you spin the wheel, facts about the US State appear, including: Biggest Cities, Capital, Flag, Type of Government, Name of Currency, Area, Population, Major Languages, Residents Called, Bordered by, Major Industries, and Continent.

Reading Log Wheel
Make a reading log wheel for 8 books using this 2-page print-out; it consists of a base page together with a wheel that spins around. After putting the wheel together, the student follows the instructions on the front wheel and fills out the reading log for each given genre (type of book), including: Biography, History, Science, Animals, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Fables/Myths, Any Fiction, Any Non-Fiction. For each of the 8 books, the student writes: Title, Author, Number of Pages, Your Rating of the Book, Date Completed. The student then answers the questions, "Which book was your favorite book (and why)? Would you recommend this book to a friend? and Which book was your least favorite book (and why)?"

US State Wheel
